How the Union Plus Scholarship Program works
Eligibility
Current and retired members of participating unions, their spouses and their dependent children (as defined by IRS regulations).
Sometimes our jobs and our personal lives can get a little stressful. We have an Employee Assistance Program that can help not only with stress but also with many other problems that life may bring to us.
The EAP is a consultation, information and referral service available for our members and their family. Our services are free, voluntary, and confidential.
Local 591 would like to welcome David SanMiguel to the position of DFW EAP Peer Coordinator. David was appointed after the EAP Committee reviewed several applicants for this position.
Job Description – Volunteer EAP Peer Coordinator
The Peer Coordinator advocates for the use of the Members Assistance Program by providing information to employees, their families, union representatives; and management as requested by the member. The Peer Coordinator also communicates regularly with the appropriate Regional Coordinator.
The Peer Coordinator provides support and encourages the employee to accept and follow through on Members Assistance Program/EAP recommendations.
The Peer Coordinator must understand the importance of confidentiality.
The Peer Coordinator will support the employee in the return to work process.
A basic understanding of employee benefits is required.
