The Appointment of Jorge Tapia to the vacant LAX Station Chairman Position

Brothers and Sisters:
With the need for a TWU Local 591 LAX Station Chairman, and in accordance with Local 591's bylaws, specifically Article X Section 6, the Local 591 Executive Board has the ability to appoint a Station Chairman due to the fact less than one-half the term remains. The reference to the Local 591 bylaws reads in part:
In the event of a vacancy in any position herein, that has eighteen (18) months or more remaining in the term, at the time the vacancy occurs, said vacancy is to be considered permanent and shall be filled through election process defined above. In the event of a vacancy in any position herein, that has less than 18 months remaining in the term, the Executive Board will appoint a person to fill said vacancy.
Effective April 4th, 2022, Brother Jorge Tapia is appointed to the position of TWU Local 591 LAX Station Chairman. The appointment will remain in place until the next regular election cycle.
