Dear Sisters & Brothers,

I wanted to take a few brief moments of your time to reach out and connect with you. I realize most of you know me already, essentially from my role as International Staff Representative with responsibilities over the Fleet Service workgroups for the organization. For those of you who do not, I intend to schedule meetings with you and your boards in the coming months. After being appointed to the position of Air Division Director effective October 10, 2022 at the Fall IEC Meeting, I scheduled a meeting with the IAC leadership to discuss the transition period, which was originally set to be 3-6 months, to identify what items would remain under the Air Division Director and what would be shifted to the Executive Director to the International President.

There are currently several open contract negotiations, new Charters and Executive Boards being established, and finalization of open items I am continually working on in the Fleet Service workgroup that needs to be aligned to free up the required time. As these meetings are scheduled with the Locals, I want to assure all of you that I fully believe in Local autonomy and that my sole purpose is to lend support and resources to ensure that the Locals of the TWU Air Division have the tools they need to succeed. I would also like to establish working relationships between the International Staff and the Locals to enhance the unity within the organization. My hope is to gain a better understanding of the types of work we all do, where we do it, and how we can better represent all of our members.
