This page contains the documents and updates related to the preparations to renegotiate the M&R, MLS, MTS, and MCT JCBAs, as well as updates regarding the evolving Contract Extension discussions.
The Date of Ratification (DOR) for the M&R, MLS, MTS, and MCT Joint Collective Bargaining Agreements (JCBAs) is March 26, 2020.
The March 26, 2020 JCBAs have an amendable date of March 26, 2025.
Normally, any ratified contract extension would change the original amendable date.
Reminder:
Labor Agreements under the Railway Labor Act (RLA) become amendable at the end of the term of the agreement, RLA Labor Agreements do not expire like Labor Agreements do under the National Labor Relations Act (NLRA).
Labor Agreements negotiations process under the Railway Labor Act are regulated by the National Mediation Board (NMB), not the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB).
